HOW TO ENJOY LIFE BEING A TEENAGER

Teenagers have different ways on how they would live their everyday lives. Here in the Philippines, we are controlled by our parents until we get married and even if we already have our own family but in other countries, when a child reached the age of eighteen(18), their parents used to separate from their children for them to be independent. In their case, the parents give them their own shelter. That’s why it’s in their hands if they’re going to be successful in life or would they enjoy being such a teenager.

Being free is not being far. We teens, used to say that the more it’s not needed, the more we enjoy doing it. Sometimes we act like we don’t want to hear things from our parents just because they’re not agreeing with what we are doing. But there were things that we can do without any consultation from our parents because it is just the way we used to be. Here are some activities that may give us freedom in a good way.

KEEP CONTACTS

Having a group of friends is one way of being socialized. Being with them and have some conversations, keeping on contact, and talk with them would be the best way of what we say friends whose “keeping in touch”. It’s more interesting when you talk with your friends at your same age than with some older than you. Although you can learn from them… there were things that would never going to be that easy for them to understand you. Friends are gifts from up above… so cherish every moments because when you grow up, thus moment would make you feel young again when you remember it. Make friends through friends until you have your best friends! Remember that your options to make friends are limitless!

DO EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Join the organizations in your school/university. It would help you to be more active and have self-confidence. You can also join bands, or in any activities that you can show your talents and whatever you are interested in. It’s more fun and you’ll enjoy being part of it, being you rather.

FIGURE OUT YOUR STYLE

It is important to know your style as a teenager. Ask yourself what you would want to be. Do you want to be a grungey rocker? An alternative? A crazy kid? Boss in your group? A bit of an emo? A clever kid? Then be who you are! Don’t mind others for what they can say about you. Get into the stuff that will compliment your style. The best thing of doing it is the truth that you really enjoy it!

TRY AND PLEASE YOUR FAMILY

Having a bond with your parents and sisters/brothers is one of the important things inside a home. For what they say “there’s no place like home”. It’s because they were the closest friends… the most important people in your life that you want to stay forever with you. Obey your parents; they always know what’s best. They’re the ones whom you can’t live without. Understand, give, forgive, love… and unite.

DON’T BE LAZY

You only live once so try and try until you reach that goal… ‘cause if you’re going to wait for somebody to do it, it would never gonna be for you anymore. Even if your hair gets dry and your haggardness showed up, do it for the reason you want to do for. Do your best all the time. Maybe someday you’re going to realize that when you already get older where you don’t have enough time for those things.

TRAVEL

Go anywhere you want as long as you know who’s with you. Discover the wonder of this world. Go over and visit relatives, friends, and families from a far place. Meet new friends from other countries but be cautious of their religion or culture. Play with dogs and cats. Get dirt. See the birds flying, the swimming fish, and the running wild creations in this world!

When we’re not that mature in such things, elders used to say this, “You still need to eat more rice.” Because they already came to that age where they can live free and things are lighter than what they face now. Being a teenager is so fast… as fast as days to raise us.
